Overview
In May 2024, the Infected Blood Inquiry published its final report and the government passed legislation to set up the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) to deliver compensation to those given infected blood products by the NHS.
Since then, IBCA has opened the service to living infected people, affected people, and people making a claim on behalf of a deceased infected person. We started by asking smaller groups of people to make a claim, so we could learn and improve the service along the way.
We are continuing to process claims and expand the service to more people.
