Overview

Since the Infected Blood Inquiry released its second interim report in April 2023, a lot has been done to create the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme. The government responded to the inquiry by committing to create a fair and consistent system.

In May 2024, the government announced that the Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) would be set up. IBCA is the independent arms-length body responsible for handling compensation claims and making payments.
