What we’re doing next
Expanding the service to more people
We will continue to increase the number of claims we take in. By the end of March 2027, we expect to have started all claims from living infected people and people representing deceased infected people that registered by June 2026.
We will also bring in more claims for affected people, and develop the service for people making a claim on behalf of a deceased affected person.
Reaching people who haven’t registered
We will work to reach people who may not yet know they are eligible to claim compensation. This includes working with community organisations and communicating more widely to reach people who are not yet known to us.
Improving the service for everyone
To ensure people claiming are fully prepared, we will continuously improve our guidance, online tools, and assisted digital support. Throughout this process, we will align with the fourth regulations, keeping you informed at every stage.
We are committed to listening to the infected blood community, sharing feedback across IBCA and the Cabinet Office, taking action where possible, and clearly communicating the steps we have taken as a result.
Transferring the IBSS
We will transfer the Infected Blood Support Schemes (IBSS) into IBCA by the end of March 2027, bringing in all people who are registered with an IBSS into IBCA’s service.
